New “Lifespan Machine” yields insights into the dynamics of aging

The Lifespan Machine

Described in Nature Methods and created in the Fontana Lab, this tool will enable researchers to make highly accurate calculations of lifespan curves that reveal not only the average lifespan of a colony of a genetically unique strain of worms, but also how soon they begin to die, how long they are capable of living and even when they become sedentary.
